Triggers can be added based on event rule matches¹. If a new condition type were available that activates a configured trigger if it has been over a certain time since a matching event it would provide an easy way for tracing users to react (e.g. take a snapshot) of a suspicious state where an application has been silent for too long.

It could reduce the burden of writing watchdog applications in user space to run a snapshot if some principal application is no longer reporting as expected.
