It seems designated initializer support was added in g++ as part of gcc 4.7.

Can you prepare a patch that updates the README to specify that g++ 4.7
or better (or LLVM) is needed if people want to compile probes with g++ ?

Also, we should add a small test program in the configure.ac to check
that the c++ compiler provided indeed supports those identifiers.
