Description

The CTF 1.8 kernel traces generated by lttng-tools v2.14.0 are not CTF 1.8 compliant, because they don't have the binary metadata packet headers nor the required "/* CTF 1.8" header at the beginning of the metadata text file.

Reverting this lttng-tools commit appears to fix this issue:

e9dbb91b6fa3 ("consumerd: Always strip metadata packet header")

As a consequence, those traces cannot be read by Trace Compass.
