Description

When we list the session with lttng list we get a list prefixed by number

Available tracing sessions:
1) test (/home/scientist/lttng-traces/test-20120618-142554) [inactive]

It seems natural after that to use this number when we want to have the detail of a session

lttng list 1

instead of doing lttng list test

(Its particularly painfull with the auto generated names.

Comment from David: also putting ** instead of number could "fix" this problem

I can't really change that for now (release candidate freeze) since it's going to change the message output to the user.

I'll flag this one for 2.2 :)

Not sure when or if we'll be able to do that so let's keep it and set it for "Unknown future version" :)

This is partially solved with the use of mi and bash-autompletion. The autompletion of auto generated name is less painfull now. Still the use of number is inadequate and can confuse the user. The introduction of mi should enable heavy modification of the cli output.
